Confronting Christianity

Wednesday Evenings Starting February 19

6:30pm - 8:30pm

@ GCC Community Room and via Zoom

Confronting Christianity: Twelve Hard Questions for the World’s Largest Religion (Rebecca McLaughlin)

How Could a Loving God Allow So Much Suffering?

Hasn’t Science Disproved Christianity?

How Can You Say There’s Only One True Faith?

Doesn’t Christianity Denigrate Women?

How Can You Take the Bible Literally?

In the book Confronting Christianity, author Rebecca McLaughlin engages with 12 of the hardest objections to Christianity, expertly showing how each challenge – when properly probed and understood – points to a good and loving God, rather than away from Him.

Indeed, when we look more closely at the reality of suffering, the complexity of sexuality, the desire for diversity, the success of science, and similar tough topics we will learn they become signposts to faith rather than roadblocks.

All are welcome to join us for this seven-week book discussion. We will meet in the Community Room on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 8:30 pm beginning February 19 and ending April 9 (skipping March 5 - Ash Wednesday). The course fee is $10 which will cover the cost of the book. Participants should expect to spend two out-of-class hours each week reading and preparing for class. You must register to attend
