Are you ready for a combination of sports and vacation bible school? This summer Gurnee Community Church is bringing in UW (Uncharted Waters) Sports Ministry to provide strong sports-oriented Bible and music curriculum, along with high quality sports curriculum in soccer, basketball, cheerleading, and a Team45 program (preschool motor skill development).
This is a week long event that takes place from Monday, June 24 -Friday, June 28 from 5:00-8:15 pm. This a great chance for your child to learn about a sport, meet friends, have fun and learn about Jesus.
If your child is incoming 1st grade – 6th grade they choose one sport (soccer, basketball or cheerleading) to develop skills in. If your child is incoming preschool (4 years old by start of camp) – incoming kindergarten they will participate in Team45 which will give them a chance to work on motor skill development with sports equipment.
The cost is $30 per child (max $80 per family). You child will get high level coaching, great bible teaching and exciting take home activities. A camp shirt is included! Your child won’t want to miss this great experience….sign up today!!!
VOLUNTEERS
We need LOTS of volunteers to help us run this event. If you are an adult or child 12 years and over (with parent/guardian consent), please sign up to volunteer.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When should we arrive? Please arrive between 4:45-5:00 pm
What should my child(ren) bring? They don't need to bring anything. Have your child wear comfortable sports clothes (shorts, t-shirt and gym shoes)
What is provided? You will receive a t-shirt the first day of VBS Sports Camp. There will be snacks and plenty of water provided.
What happens if it rains? VBS Sports Camp happens rain or shine. If it is raining, we will move all activities indoor.
How old does my child have to be to participate in the VBS Sports Camp? 4 years old by the start of VBS (June 24, 2024) through 11 years old (just finished 5th grade)
What if my child is too old to attend? We are always looking for youth (12-17 years old) to help volunteer as an assistant coach for any of the sports. Please fill out the volunteer form for them.
